A Surprise at Prayer meeting

A few weeks after returning from the Bible Camp, our little group was meeting for Wednesday night prayer. A couple came that evening wanting prayer because they were soon to be married. The young man especially wanted ministry since he had been having some problems with anger.

We began the meeting with singing, praising and worshipping the Lord. The “bride to be” blessed all of us when she sang a beautiful song in the spirit. We had a rich, moving time with the Lord in worship and prayer.

At the end of the meeting, I asked the young brother to sit in a chair as we gathered around him to pray. While we were praying, I heard a commotion behind me. Chairs were banging and some of the ladies began to pray loudly. I turned around to see the brother’s fiancee on the floor squirming around like a snake. I felt “goose-bumps” all over my body and the hair on the back of my neck tingling! What was going on?

We stopped praying for the young man and hurried over to the scene on the floor behind us. The young woman was slithering between and under the chairs hissing like a serpent of some sort. I knelt down, put my hand on her shoulder and called her name. She turned her eyes toward me and glared with pure hatred growling, “Leave me alone!” Her pupils were diamond-shaped like a snake’s! Her tongue began to dart in and out of her mouth, serpentlike also. This was real! I had encountered my first demon in another person!
